We are very excited to announce the lineup for Confetti Fest XXI, our annual festival of locally written one acts. We’re looking for some directors to bring the shows to life!
Confetti Fest XXI features…
“Lightbringers” by J. Scala
In search of new places to expand the domain of hell; a fiend encounters the chained Prometheus. The two discuss divine crime and punishment, and the potential of hope. Chaos ensues..
“The Hermes Show” by Vincent James
Remember the Jerry Springer show or the Maury Povich show? Well what if the gods had their own spin on that? On the Hermes show hijinks ensues when we take a look at one of the many indiscretions of the king of the gods Zeus himself.
“Fair Share” by Byron Nilsson
A young tax collector named Lester calls on Beatrice and Harry, an elderly couple, in order to settle their debt, and finds them hilariously over-cooperative. This is a compact farce in the spirit of the Goon Show.
“Mother Tongue” by Stephen Kaplan
In a war-torn Ukraine where every word carries weight, a desperate mother pleads with her child’s teacher to set aside principle for practicality — forcing them into a battle over language, identity, and survival.
“Elsewhere” by Sophie Morelli
Two people meet at a bus stop under unfortunate circumstances and proceed to divulge their troubles to one another. As they wait, they strike up an unlikely conversation, revealing starkly different approaches to life.
Confetti Fest XXI will run the first two weekends in October.
