Elsewhere Shakespeare is producing a five-day festival of Shakespeare-related events in North Adams.

All events are free and two hours or less. No RSVPs or reservations required.

Wed May 28 @8PM: A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the Lodge at Tourists (915 State Rd, North Adams, MA) as part of their Sing For Your Slumber series. 

Friday May 30 @8PM: We Were Wont To Lie by Molly McInturff and There is a World Elsewhere by Lydia Isabel Duff: Two back-to-back staged readings of short (15-20min) new Shakespeare-adjacent plays at Freemans Grove Benevolent Society (62 North Holden St, North Adams, MA). Talkback with playwrights and actors after the readings.

Saturday May 31 @7PM: Sonnet Slam at Heart’s Pace (15 Eagle Street, North Adams, MA) in partnership with ReVerse. Standard Poetry Slam format except performers will recite Shakespeare sonnets. Memorization is encouraged but not required. We will have hard copies of sonnets on hand for folks who’d like to read. $100 cash first place prize. Local judges include Rye Howard of The Bear and the Bee bookstore.

Sunday June 1 @12PM: A presentation at Eclipse Mill Gallery (243 Union St, North Adams, MA) by Portland-based artist Missy Dunaway who is working on a series of paintings of every bird mentioned in Shakespeare. Missy will give a ~1-hour presentation on birds, Shakespeare, and her artistic practice and then take questions. She will also have a limited number of prints for sale.

Monday June 2 @8PM: Julius Caesar at Installation Space at 49 Eagle Street.

Elsewhere Shakespeare is a proud member of the Shakespeare Theatre Association and Fractured Atlas.
