CAMBRIDGE, NY — Hubbard Hall Theater Company will present Fefu and Her Friends by María Irene Fornés, May 1–10, 2026, as part of Celebrando Fornés, a nationwide initiative led by the Fornés Institute. The program is part of the larger Decade of Fornés (2021–2030), a national effort to elevate and expand the legacy of one of the most influential voices in American theater.
By participating in Celebrando Fornés, Hubbard Hall joins theaters and cultural institutions across the country in a shared exploration of Fornés’ groundbreaking work, known for its inventive structure, emotional depth, and radical reimagining of theatrical form.
Both funny and unsettling, Fefu and Her Friends unfolds during a 1935 gathering of eight women at a country home. What begins as a lively reunion gradually reveals the inner lives, tensions, and resilience of women navigating societal constraints. The play’s innovative structure invites audiences into multiple spaces, offering intimate, shifting perspectives that challenge traditional modes of storytelling.
Hubbard Hall’s production features a multigenerational cast drawn from across the Capital Region and beyond, bringing together a mix of seasoned regional performers, returning Hubbard Hall artists, and newer voices. The ensemble is led by Hoosick Falls native Katherine Danforth in the title role, alongside Cambridge native Jenny Wright, whose career has spanned Broadway, Off-Broadway, and film. The cast also includes artists with extensive regional credits, formal classical training, and deep ties to the local community, reflecting a wide range of experience and perspectives on stage.
The production is directed by Hubbard Hall’s Executive Director, Erin Nicole Harrington. The creative team includes Laurie Kenny (Stage Manager), Kim Martin (Costume Design), Maureen “Moe” Cossey (Lighting and Sound Design), and Madeline Johns (Intimacy Coordinator).
In addition to the production, Hubbard Hall will offer community engagement opportunities that connect the themes of the play to contemporary civic life. The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County will host voter information tables at all performances, providing resources for voter registration, absentee ballots, and election information.
Performances will be offered in two formats. Select performances follow Fornés’ immersive structure, with audiences moving through multiple locations across the Hubbard Hall campus. Additional performances will be staged in a single, seated format to support accessibility, including patrons with mobility needs. Assisted listening will be available at these performances.
All performances run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm, May 1–10. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for students 21 and under.
A special Mother’s Day brunch will be offered prior to the final performance on Sunday, May 10 at 10:00 AM at Canteen Coffee Co..

League of Women Voters Partnership
The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County will host a voter information table at all Hubbard Hall Theater Company performances of Fefu and Her Friends. At these voter information hubs, residents can confirm their registration, register to vote, request an absentee ballot application, update their address or party enrollment, find out when and where to vote, and learn what will be on the ballot in November.

This production of Feu and Her Fiends is presented as part of Celebrando Fornés, a nationwide initiative led by the The Fornés Institute to honor the life and work of María Irene Fornés. As part of the broader Decade of Fornés (2021–2030), theaters and institutions across the country are producing and engaging with Fornés’s work to celebrate her lasting impact on American theater.

Cast and Creative Team:
Katherine Danforth (Fefu) is a Hoosick Falls native and a graduate of SUNY Potsdam. She has appeared in Hubbard Hall productions of “Twelfth Night” (Olivia), “Othello” (Cassio), “Peter and the Starcatcher” (Mrs Bumbrake), “A Box of Monkeys” (Mrs Ondego-Jones), “All’s Well That Ends Well” (Lafew), and “Twelfth Night” (Viola). Other acting credits include “Pride and Prejudice” (Mr Bennet/Charlotte), “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” (Lysander), “Into the Woods” (Cinderella’s Mother), and “Godspell” (Learn Your Lessons Well soloist) at Fort Salem Theater. Formerly a proud staff member and youth production director at Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts and Education, Katherine now works at the Bennington Early Childhood Center in Vermont.
Jewel Winant (Cindy) Currently on hiatus from pursuing her MFA in classical acting with Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy in DC, she was most recently seen in their production of Much Ado About Nothing as Hero/Watchman.
Having done over 40 productions in the capital region, other recent credits include A poet in “An Iliad” (A Certain Something), Orlando in “As You Like It,” Rose in “Dancing at Lughnasa” (Hubbard Hall Theatre Company), Narrator in “Rocky Horror Show” and Kate in “Taming of the Shrew”(UAlbany). She has also trained with Shakespeare and Company in Lenox, MA and completed their month long intensive this past summer.
A new local resident, she is looking forward to the pause in her MFA to slow down, rest, and become more involved in the local theatre. “I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.”-William Shakespeare
Neve Marotta (Christina) is a Cambridge native and recent graduate of Burr and Burton Academy, and is currently a student at SUNY Adirondack. She has been performing in Hubbard Hall productions for most of her life, such as “Beetlejuice Jr.” (Barbara), “All Shook Up!” (Sylvia), “Into the Woods” (Jack’s Mother), and “Little Women” (Hannah). She has also worked professionally in commercial modeling and acted in student films. Film credits include “Dinner with Demons” (Stella) at Marymount Manhattan College and “Imaginary” (Serena) at Brooklyn College. Jenny Wright (Julia) Living in New York City Jenny starred in Broadway and Off-Broadway plays. In her younger years she was Salvador Dali’s model. Later, moving to California to work in film- IMDb. She studied at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, and studied The Meisner Method in California and New York. Jenny is a native of Cambridge, and loves animals, books, art, the community, and the seasons.
Tiffany McWilliams (Emma) is an active member of Upstate New York’s Capital Region theater community. Her recent work for Fort Salem Theater, Curtain Call Theatre, The Ghent Playhouse, Harbinger Theater and Theater Voices ranges from classics like “All My Sons” and “Gaslight” to the intergenerational all-female ensemble of “Love, Loss & What I Wore” to the acclaimed regional premieres of “Mrs. Packard”, “Things I Know To Be True”, “The Rembrandt” and “The Squirrels”.

Antoinette Fasino (Paula) graduated from Montclair State University with a BFA in acting. They were most recently seen in Home Made Theater’s production of The Humans as Aimee. Antoinette lives in Glens Falls and is a produced playwright in New Jersey and New York.
Maureen “Moe” Cossey (Sue) is a local theater professional, musician and actor. She attended the Crane School of Music and SUNY Albany, majoring in Vocal Performance. For the past several years, she has been the resident Stage Manager and Event Production Coordinator at Hubbard Hall Center for the Arts and Education in Cambridge, NY. Fort Salem Theater credits include ‘Sweeney Todd,’ ‘Mary Poppins’ (Mrs. Andrew), ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ (Voice of Audrey II), ‘Bright Star’ (Mama Murphy), ‘Pirates of Penzance’ (Edith), ‘There’s No Business Like Snow Business’ (Featured Performer), ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘Steel Magnolias’ (Stage Manager). Other recent stage roles include Mother Abbess (alternate) in ‘The Sound of Music’ (HMT), and Sister Margaretta in ‘The Sound of Music’ (MACC). Recent Creative Team Production credits include: ‘Ragtime’ (Sand Lake Center for the Arts, Lighting Designer), ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ (Bennington Monument Arts and Cultural Center, Stage Manager), ‘What the Constitution Means to Me’ (Stage Manager, Lighting Designer), ‘Valley Song’ (Lighting Designer), ‘Dancing at Lughnasa’ (Stage Manager and Lighting Designer). This summer, she will be directing the Youth and Teen Theater programs at Hubbard Hall! When not on stage or behind the scenes, Moe also serves as a music minister and organist at several local churches.
Hannah Thien (Cecilia) is an Albany actor and music director happy to return to Hubbard Hall for this production. Previous stage credits include As You Like It (Celia, Hubbard Hall, 2025), Agatha Christie’s Mousetrap (Ms. Casewell, Bunbury Players, 2024), A Christmas Carol (Belle, Hangar Theatre, 2019). Upcoming credits include Footloose (Playhouse Stage Company, Summer 2026).
