Join the Silverthorne Theater Company for our final Theater Thursday reading of the 2026 season: Jeremy Geragotelis’s new play, The 2018 Handel Society MDP Competition. In The 2018 Handel Society MDP Competition, prodigies Cassidy, Vanessa and James meet each other once a year at a high-stakes piano competition, where connection in this rarified environment battles the drive to crush one’s opponents at any cost. And there’s an albatross in the green room who might have something to do with Cassidy’s father…
Jeremy Geragotelis is a playwright, composer, and scholar, currently pursuing their PhD in performance studies at UMass Amherst. Their plays include An Unsettled Body, Pins and Needles or the Circumstance of Falling Forever on Ash Wednesday 1988, The Preparation to the Death of Mary Dyer (KCACTF, Musical Theater Award, 2020 – 2021, O’Neill Music Theater Conference Semi-Finalist), Doctor Vysarius (w/ Steven Glavey), and It’s Like Riding a Bike (The American Prize, 2023). They graduated from The Playwrights Workshop at The University of Iowa in 2022. Don’t miss the chance to meet Jeremy and explore their work at this Thursday’s reading!
Directed by Cordelia Winter Dwyer, and starring Antigone Brandel-luliano, Rachel F. Hirsch, Aaron Mancaniello, Maya Quinones, Sam Samuels, and Rhiannon Thomas, the reading will take place at 7:00pm on this Thursday, April 30th, 2026 at the Shea Theater in Turners Falls.
