West Stockbridge— On Saturday, May 16th at 7:30 p.m., The Foundry presents Becca Schneider in her solo show “TRICH,” a solo show about mental health, isolation, and forging a path toward recovery through humor, vulnerability, and far too many 90s references.
What happens when a lifelong secret can no longer remain buried? Schneider shares her deeply personal story of growing up with trichotillomania, a hair-pulling disorder that affects millions but is rarely revealed. Told with warmth and radical honesty, Schneider traces her decades-long journey through isolation, shame, and recovery, exploring what it means to feel out of control in one’s body and what can happen when silence ends and connection begins.
Written and performed by Becca Schneider, “TRICH” captivated audiences as the top-selling play at the 2021 United Solo Theatre Festival in NYC, garnering both the Best Actress and Audience Choice Awards. The play’s return to the stage was a sold-out run at Luna Stage, where it was named one of the top New Jersey productions of 2023 by NJArts, prompting a three-week encore. Beyond the stage, TRICH has also become an advocacy tool, performing at national mental health conferences.
The performance is on Saturday, May 16th at 7:30 p.m. at The Foundry, located at 2 Harris Street in West Stockbridge. Tickets and more information can be found online.
