PAID Fall Gig- Downtown Troy, NY
Hi everyone! I am the owner and operator of Haunted Upstate, which is a ghost tour company located in Downtown Troy (for now!). As September is rapidly approaching, I am looking to add a few more tour guides to my team, and actors are the best storytellers!
The gig is a 1-mile walking loop of true stories about folklore, true crime, and of course, ghosts. While you have a script/book with resources/facts/information and stops, the way you present it is up to you, your talents, and your joys! We’ve had guides in full costume (Edgar Ritchie), guides who add a bit of magic (Cory Haines), guides with puppets, and more! When I give my tour, it truly is a 90-minute stand-up comedy set, so to each their own.
We run Fridays and Saturdays in September and October, with 2 90-minute tours a night, 6:30 pm and 8 pm. More get added as those sell out (which they do!), or random weekdays/sundays if groups book.
$50 per tour is paid that night on Venmo, plus tips from attendees (usually), and a $5-bonus for each positive named review, or when people mention your name with booking.
Commitment-wise, guides mark the days they are available on a spreadsheet, and I do my best to spread the programming around. In addition, if you book a tour via word of mouth or with a group, you get that tour- and it does not have to be at the typical times. I want to give everyone as much flexibility to work other paying opportunities as they can, so most people only work a few weekends each season.
