SHAKER DANCES and SONGS
The Community Shaker Songs and Dances Performance is a suite of 9 traditional Dances and Songs. We need 20 performers – movers who would like to participate in traditional Shaker Dances and Songs. This part of the whole performance takes place before the pageant dance. An enjoyment in performing dance and song is really all that is required. The dances are simple (mostly moving and walking in patterns), easy to learn and fun. Old and young are invited to audition. Kids under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. A terrific family activity!
Requirements – Must be able to:
•participate in early evening and weekend rehearsals, August/Sept and both performances.
• move continuously for half an hour. A singing voice or dance technique is not required.
•A joyful attitude with a desire and ability to work in a community group is very important.
