On November 18, The Foundry will initiate The Foundry Future Fund, a year-end fundraising campaign to support live performances, artist residencies for new work development, and educational initiatives.
WEST STOCKBRIDGE, MA– The Foundry has officially secured recognition from the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and established its inaugural board of directors, marking a pivotal milestone for the multidisciplinary venue. To establish a foundation for this next phase of organizational growth, The Foundry will launch a $100,000 fundraising campaign at a celebratory event on Wednesday, November 18 at the West Stockbridge venue.
Since its inception in 2019, The Foundry has presented year-round theater, music, comedy, dance, spoken word, and educational workshops. Operating formerly as a social enterprise, the organization sustained its mission through the ongoing support of patrons, artists, members, and community stakeholders. Acquiring nonprofit status enables The Foundry to further advance its core founding mission: delivering live artistic programming that often elevates historically marginalized voices, maintaining accessibility for diverse audiences, and fostering cross-cultural engagement. The venue serves as an incubator for transformative, innovative and empowering artistic work that offers new perspectives.
The $100,000 campaign is structured to secure essential start-up capital for the nonprofit organization and establish a foundation for long-term operational sustainability. Amy Brentano, Producing Artistic Director, stated: “Following seven years of overcoming substantial challenges, including the impacts of the pandemic, public support for The Foundry has expanded significantly. The comprehensive documentation of our past programming positions us favorably for individual philanthropy and institutional grant support. We are exceptionally well prepared to expand our reach and programmatic range.”
