Home Made Theater, Saratoga’s resident theater company, is getting ready to open their 2018-2019 season. HMT is the resident theater company at The Spa Little Theater in Saratoga Spa State Park.
In October, Home Made Theater will open their 34th season with the musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks. YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN will be directed by Dawn Oesch, who directed HMT’s very successful production of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT last spring.
December’s “Theater for Families” production will be Jean Shepherd’s A CHRISTMAS STORY, directed by Jeremy Buechner. A CHRISTMAS STORY is adapted from Jean Shepherd’s 1966 book In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash, and the 1983 movie, also called A Christmas Story.
In February, HMT will present Agatha Christie’s THE MOUSETRAP, directed by Dianne O’Neill-Filer. The original production of THE MOUSETRAP opened in London’s West End in 1952 and runs to this day, making it the longest
running play in history.
Closing the season in April/May will be Neil Simon’s classic romantic comedy, BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, underwritten by Stewart’s/Dake Family. “BAREFOOT,” which was Simon’s longest running hit, will be directed at HMT by Michael McDermott.
Season subscriptions are available with discounts up to 20% off individual ticket prices. Single tickets go on sale on September 7th.
