Classic Family Fun for All, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (Revised), opens at The Theater Barn

Charlie Brown and the entire Peanuts gang explore life’s great questions as they play baseball, struggle with homework, sing songs, swoon over their crushes, and celebrate the joy of friendship. This revised classic (1999) promises fun for the whole family. The Tony Award winning musical is based on the comic strip by Charles M. Schulz with book, music and lyrics by Clark Gesner. The revised version includes additional dialogue by Michael Mayer and additional music and lyrics by Theater Barn alumni Andrew Lippa.

The theater is happy to welcome back Rebecca Frazier in her directorial debut at the ‘Barn. Rebecca has credits as the choreographer for the 2019 season’s production of Lucky Stiff and as Assistant Choreographer for the theater’s 2015 production of Evita. Other Director/Choreographer credits include EvitaOnce Upon A Mattress, and Boleyn at the New York Theater Barn Choreography Lab. She is joined by theater alumni Kevin Francis Finn as the Musical Director. Kevin was musical director for Jon and JenThe Fantastiks and Evita during the theater’s 2015 Season.

Joining them in this fun for all ages musical is returning actor from Night and Day, Jarod Bakum as Charlie Brown’s mischievous best friend, Snoopy. The theater is also pleased to welcome ‘Barn newcomers, Christian Ortega (Charlie Brown), Emily Song (Sally Brown), Raina Fraley (Lucy), Brett Hennessey Jones (Linus), and Kyle Jack (Schroeder).

Performances of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (Revised) start on Thursday, August 26th and run until Sunday, September 5th at the fully air-conditioned Theater Barn located at 654 Route 20 in New Lebanon, New York. Performances are Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 4pm and 8pm and Sundays at 2pm.  On Thursday, September 2, there is an additional 2pm matinee.  Tickets are $33 with $30 discounted tickets available for seniors, veterans, and the Sunday matinee.   Advanced ticket purchases are recommended and can be ordered online at www.theaterbarn.com.
