(September 17, 2021—Chatham, NY) With sold-out performances for the past nine years, ToUch Performance Art brings a brand new immersive dance-theater-circus experience, Major Arcana, to the Mac-Haydn Theatre for two shows only on September 24 and October 1, 2021.
This brand-new experience takes the audience on a journey of self discovery through the lens of the Major Arcana of Tarot. Part improvised immersion, part cabaret Tarot reading, ToUch invites the audience to dive in and experience both intimate interactions and spectacular performances.
In this personalized story, there’s much to uncover— from touching on familiar inner thoughts to sparking fresh emotional discoveries. ToUch is known for breaking the boundary between the audience and performer, putting the audience at the center of the experience, and offering many levels of interaction to engage all audience members.
Featuring Mac-Haydn favorites and the best NYC has to offer, ToUch brings together established performers of dance, music, theater, and circus arts. Major Arcana comes to life as a wondrous visual adventure, asking the audience to peer into themselves through incredible, jaw dropping performances. The show explodes with evocative live music, contagious choreography, and breathtaking circus arts. You’re invited to play as the Fool, watch the High Priestess uncover her magic, feel and dream with the Lovers, and so much more as this sensorial rollercoaster takes you on an adventure you won’t encounter anywhere else.
The cast of Major Arcana features Mac-Haydn favorites Maya Cuevas, William Taitel, Madison Stratton, David Aaron, Julia Hajjar, Ashley DeLane Burger, Erin Spears Ledford, Gabe Belyeu and John Saunders. Music Supervisor David Maglione will serve as the show’s music coordinator.
The theatre welcomes burlesque dancers Media Noche (9/24 performance only) and Ariel Ash (10/1 performance only), and circus performers Ivory Fox and Rae Mae to the stage as well.
Co-Founders, Marissa Rae Roberts and Elizabeth McGuire met while studying at The Boston Conservatory and began collaborating to create AcousticaElectronica. Since their start in 2011, they served three years as artists in residence at the American Repertory Theater, performed sold out shows all over the Northeast, and created immersive experiences for organizations such as The Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and The Trevor Project. Marissa and Elizabeth are true collaborators: equally creating, directing, producing, and performing in ToUch’s work together.
