Open Auditions for “Last Train to Nibroc”
February 24 and February 27, 2022
The Ghent Playhouse is pleased to announce auditions for “Last Train to Nibroc” by Arlene Hutton, directed by Sky Vogel. This production was previously scheduled to be presented in the late Spring of 2020, but was cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Auditions will be held Thursday evening, February 24 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday afternoon, February 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ghent Playhouse, located at 6 Town Hall Road in Ghent, New York.
Set in 1940, “Last Train to Nibroc, is a funny and touching portrait of the search for happiness. This simply staged romance tells the story of May and Raleigh, who meet on a cross-country train trip and soon discover they are from neighboring towns. Love blooms and complications abound, when Raleigh decides to follow his heart – and
May – to Kentucky, rather than pursuing his plans to become a writer in New York.
The play calls for two strong actors who can portray characters from 20-30 years old. Younger individuals who feel they can play older or older individuals who feel they can play younger, are encouraged to audition. Those auditioning will be asked to read specific scenes from the script.
The rehearsal schedule will be based on the availability of those chosen for the production. Those interested in auditioning are asked to be as specific as possible in listing any and all conflicts.
Performance Dates: May 20 through June 5, Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 p,m., and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m.
