Johann Baptist Strauss II’s
|Our fall production (performances on November 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13), the VLO is presenting Johann Baptist Strauss II’s Die Fledermaus. Die Fledermaus, which translates to “The Bat,” sometimes called “Revenge of the Bat,” premiered in 1874 and was Strauss’ third complete operetta. It is a delightful comedy full of love, deception, revelry, and revenge. Our production will be set in Vienna, 1905, and will be performed in English.|
Auditions for all cast members will be held on
Thursday, April 28th, from 5 pm to 8 pm
Friday, April 29th, from 5 pm to 8 pm
Saturday, April 30th, from 10 am to 3 pm
at Wesley United Methodist Church, 98 North Maple Street, Hadley, MA 01035

Don’t forget to download and bring your completed Audition Registration form to your audition! Our website has role descriptions, voice ranges, and materials needed to prepare for named roles.If you are auditioning for the chorus and singing something other than a selection from Die Fledermaus, please bring a copy of your music for the accompanist.
All participants in Die Fledermaus are required to be vaccinated and have their booster shots. VLO will be following all guidance and requirements from the CDC, rehearsal/performance spaces, and municipalities.
