Starlight’s Youth Theatre, Inc is thrilled to enter their 15th year of youth theatre in the Pioneer Valley with three musical performances in the month of May. The organization’s Spring musicals will have the youngest actors performing Peter Pan Jr. at Amherst Regional Middle School on May 1 and the older students perform Into the Woods at the Academy of Music in Northampton May 6 & 7. Alumni will join the fun for a “Starlight’s Musical Spectacular” (May 28) also at the Academy of Music. 

Artistic Director, Cyn Strycharz, notes that the past two years have been tough. “We have all done our very best to survive, keeping safe, socially distanced, behind masks, looking at fellow cast members on zoom, singing with the mute button on so that you don’t get feedback…We have been holding on tight to any form of theatre and the arts because the fear of letting go would be too painful.  Now, once again we will witness the curtain opening on a real stage to smiling faces and happy actors just thrilled to be able to tell their story, hear applause and feel the audience’s love.  We encourage our audience to keep “holding on cause now…maybe… just maybe… there’s ‘a light at the end of the tunnel.’ We invite our audience to experience “the power of the arts, the wonderment of theater and the Starlight Magic.”

After a year on Zoom Starlight spring’s casts yearn for a live audience. “The Musical Spectacular,” originally planned for January of 2022 but postponed until now, includes current youth in addition to alumni and special guest stars. The production will feature songs from shows of the past 15 years. Information about tickets, including dates and times of the three productions, is included below.
