LENOX, Mass. – Shakespeare & Company will present All That Fall by Samuel Beckett, featuring Annette Miller and directed by Robert Egan, on Saturday and Sunday, July 30 and 31, and Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and 7.

A limited run of four performances of Beckett’s first, tragicomic radio play will be presented as part of the Plays in Process series: a new addition to the Company’s repertoire, featuring both new works in progress and classic works reimagined, as they develop into maturity for the stage.

Samuel Beckett’s charts the faltering journey of elderly Maddy Rooney, as she ventures along a country road to surprise her blind husband at the train station for his birthday treat. Along the way, she meets an array of local characters; some of them friendly, others not as much.

First broadcast in 1957, All That Fall marks the first time Beckett centered his work on a female protagonist. Shakespeare & Company’s production will also include Gregory Boover, Caroline Calkins, Gina Fonseca, Nigel Gore, L. James, Michael F. Toomey, and Jake Waid.

Each performance of All That Fall will be staged at 1:30 p.m. in the climate-controlled Tina Packer Playhouse, and the entire Plays in Process series is sponsored by Jerry and Honie Berko.
