Free Tickets for Ages 5-17

(Pittsfield, MA) Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, presents the world premiere of The Supadupa Kid, based on Pittsfield author Ty Allan Jackson’s best-selling novel.

Performances are July 29 through August 12 at BSC’s St. Germain Stage at the Sydelle and Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center (36 Linden Street). Tickets are $25 adults. Free tickets for teens 17 years and younger available for The Supadupa Kid through the generosity of The Feigenbaum Foundation. (Terms: 6 free youth tickets are available per 1 adult ticket. Reservations for free tickets must be made at the time of the adult purchase. No one under the age of 5 will be admitted. Please call the Box Office for more information. Directed by NJ Agwuna, Barrington Stage’s production is devised by NJ Agwuna and the Company of The Supadupa Kid in collaboration with Amara Brady and Tommy Scrivens. Tommy Scrivens is the movement director.

About The Supadupa Kid Javon Williams was just a normal kid until a freak accident gave him amazing superpowers. The only problem? The neighborhood bully, Hoody, acquired superpowers of his own — and is using them to terrorize the city! Javon must work to save the city by becoming… The Supadupa Kid! Ty Allan Jackson’s book comes alive on stage in this brand-new play featuring one of the first-ever teenage Black superheroes in America!

The cast features local youth: Nate Davis (Javon Williams), Xavier Lamica (Ronald), Izzy Brown (Hoody), Nolan Reynolds (Erica), Ena Parchment (Denise), M France (Ensemble/Ritska), Korey Chen (Ensemble/Tyler), Karalin Melendez (Ensemble/Alex), Mekhi McClain (Ensemble/Caz) and Spencer Mathias (Ensemble/Cornelius).

The design team includes David Goldstein (sets), Eric Norbury (lights), Johanna Pan (costumes), Patrick Calhoun (sound & original music). Sauniq Lawson is production stage manager. Branden Huldeen is Producer.
