Classic Theater Guild will be holding auditions for “Twelfth Night” by William Shakespeare

Monologue from any era and sides

Audition location: Congregation Beth Israel, 2195 Eastern Pkwy, Schenectady, NY 12309

Production Dates: 10/19, 10/21, 10/22 (Matinee) and 10/25,10/26, 10/28, 10/29 (Matinee)

Brief Synopsis: Viola thinks her brother is dead. He thinks that she is dead. Everyone thinks that she is her brother. Everyone thinks that her brother is her. Shenanigans ensue. (From Shakespeare.org)

Roles:

Viola – Mid 20s, female presenting. Can pass as a man reasonably well.

Sebastian – Mid 20s, male presenting. Could be mistaken for Viola when she’s passing as a man.

Sir Toby Belch – 40s or 50s, male presenting. Wears upper class clothing but has trouble with personal hygiene.

Sir Andrew Aguecheek – 20s or 30s, male presenting. Physically and mentally awkward.

Maria – 40s or 50s, female presenting. Stalwart and dignified with a cutting sense of humor.

Malvolio – 40-60, male presenting. Stern and socially proper at all times.

Olivia – 20s or 30s, female presenting. A regal bearing.

Orsino – 30s or 40s, male presenting. Grossly upper class in a South Carolina sort of way.

Feste – 30s, male presenting. A hippie in the purest sense.

Antonio – 30s or 40s, male presenting. A good bro to have in a pinch.

Fabian – Any age or gender identity. The gardener. Loves a good joke.

Various servants and attendants, TBD

All roles are open to every race and ethnicity.
