[GHENT, NY] [GHENT, NY] – The Ghent Playhouse presents “Circle Mirror Transformation,” a touching dramedy about a group of adults who, trying to find meaning in their lives, enroll in their community center’s drama workshop. Through a series of poignant and often comic exercises, they reveal their true selves. Winner of the 2010 Obie Award for Best New American Play, “Circle Mirror Transformation runs June 7-16 at The Ghent Playhouse, 6 Town Hall Place in Ghent, NY.
“‘Circle Mirror Transformation’ is a lovely evening of touching theatre,” said Artistic Director Cathy Lee-Visscher. “It is fun and funny, smart and meaningful.”
As the students and their instructor progress through the workshop, an evocative picture of each character and their past falls into place. What they learn is more than just acting. The play was written by Annie Baker in 2008. This production is directed by Brian Wagner.
“Circle Mirror Transformation” runs for two consecutive weeks: June 7-9 and 14-16, Friday and Saturday at 7:30pm and Sunday matinee at 2:00pm. Advance tickets are available online only: $23 for members, $28 for nonmembers, and $12 for students. Tickets and memberships can be purchased at GhentPlayhouse.org with no additional processing fees.
