Folk Singer Willi Carlisle Kicks us Off May 24; Comedian Liz Glazer Headlines May 26
ADAMS, MA—The Adams Theater is proud to open its 2024 season on the weekend of May 24-26 with two stunning shows in a theater space that continues to see major updates.
On Friday, May 24, folk singer Willi Carlisle will officially open the 2024 season with a performance celebrating his new record Critterland. Carlisle, who you may know from his sets at Freshgrass, believes singing is healing. On Critterland, Carlisle invites audiences to join him: “If we allow ourselves to sing together, there’s a release of sadness, maybe even a communal one. And so for me personally, singing, like the literal act of thinking through suffering, is really freeing,” he says.
Then on Sunday, May 26, award-winning comedian Liz Glazer will perform a set that draws on her life as a lesbian, a rabbi’s wife, and a former lawyer. A used-to-be tenured law professor, Glazer has won first place in the Boston Comedy Festival and Ladies of Laughter Competition and has opened for Myq Kaplan and Maria Bamford. As an actor, Liz has appeared on ABC’s For Life and CBS’s Bull, and is on the faculty at Lesly Kahn & Co., the Los Angeles acting studio.

The Adams Theater has continued construction since completing its first pop-up season in 2023. Membership and Season Passes
Adams Theater members get half-priced tickets to all shows from May to October, and season pass holders get complimentary tickets for themselves, plus half-price tickets for friends.
New this year, the theater is offering a Youth Membership option. For $50, those under 18 can get free admission to all shows from May to October, and can bring a friend to one show for free! Learn more about season passes here.
