West Stockbridge— On Thursday, September 10th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., The Foundry presents “Queen for a Day,” a new play by Tyler Anthony Smith.

Named one “25 Plays to Catch Off Broadway This (Very) Busy September” by the New York Times, the show is coming to the Berkshires for one-night-only during its two-week run at The Tank in New York City!

Set in the 1980s, the play imagines an encounter between the designer Halston, his friend Liza Minnelli, and a time-traveling Queen Elizabeth I. Halston, who is down on his luck, is packing up his office for reasons he doesn’t want to discuss, when Elizabeth I knocks on his door demanding that he make her a new gown to die in – by the end of the day. He agrees, and the unlikely pair moves forward with the design of a lifetime. That is until Halston’s best friend Liza Minnelli (Dakota Hughes) comes looking for help with her new act. It is a “fever-dream comedy that blends British monarchy with Studio 54-era fashion and celebrity excess.”

The performance is on Thursday, September 10th from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at The Foundry, located at 2 Harris Street in West Stockbridge. Tickets and more information can be found online.
