The New Russia Cultural Center is holding auditions for their American premiere of  F. Gorenstein’s  play “After Yesterday” directed by Oleg Golub.

Gorenstein, best known for scripting the 1972 film “Solaris”, portrays the everyday life of a Jewish family after the Holocaust in Central Ukraine.  It is an unsentimental story about post-Holocaust Jews, separated from their culture, history and people, who nonetheless survive through laughter and tears. 

The cast of 15 include:

            Rachel             — a woman in her forties
            Zlota                —  her older sister
            Vilya               — her nephew (as teen, then as adult)
            Sumer              — her brother, a man in his fifties
            Ruzya              — a woman in her twenties

Performance dates:      01/07/22 – 01/16/22

Auditions will be held on:

              Saturday, October 9                  11am-1pm
              Monday, October 11                 5-7 pm

For auditions:  Please prepare a one-minute monologue, preferably from a classical work, your choice of comedic or dramatic.  Otherwise, you may present a cold-reading from the play.
