“JAKE’S WOMEN”

Jake is a writer trying to find his way in his life and feels trapped in his relationships. He’s failing to move forward from his first wife’s death and has a troubled relationship with his second wife Maggie. Can Jake and Maggie rebuild and reunite, or are they destined to separate? Along the way we meet the other women in Jake’s life, including his daughter, his therapist, and his new love interest.

Rehearsals will be Mondays from 7PM-9PM and Saturdays from 1PM-5PM at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Production dates are March 12 & 13, 2022 at the Albany Barn.

No preparation needed – you will be asked to read sides from the play.

Proof of vaccination is required to audition and we ask that you bring a mask as well.

Those under 18 are required to have a parent/guardian accompany them to auditions to fill out a permission form.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNAll roles are open to people of ethnicities, age, and gender identity.

JAKE: (Male, 40-60) a successful writer who struggles to control his own characters.
MAGGIE: (Female, 35-45) Jake’s fiercely independent estranged second wife.
KAREN: (Female, 40-50) Jake’s tough-as-nails younger sister.
MOLLY, age 12: (Female, 12-16) Jake’s daughter as he will always picture her.
MOLLY, age 21: (Female, 20-25) Jake’s daughter in real life, despite his unwillingness to accept that fact. Both in real life and fantasy, she is supportive of her father.
EDITH: (Female, 40-60) Jake’s blatantly honest therapist.
JULIE: (Female, 20-25) Jake’s seemingly perfect deceased first wife.
SHEILA: (Female, 30-40) Jake’s freewheeling attempt to fill the void left by his crumbling marriage
