[Western MA] – For the past 15 years, broadcasting weekly on Valley Free Radio, the Hilltown Family Variety Show (HFVS) has delivered local families and beyond a commercial-free alternative to Saturday morning cartoons! Sometimes educational and always entertaining, HFVS started as a half-hour evening show, co-hosted by a local mother-daughter duo. It has since evolved into a variety show with guest DJs from around the world. From Grammy Award-winning musicians and storytellers to international and local artists, Guest DJs deliver a weekly hour-long radio show with music and storytelling every Saturday morning from 9-10am with an encore on Sunday morning from 7-8am. HFVS host and producer Sienna Wildfield came to WXOJ from WPKN, where she engineered and produced several radio shows and community calendars in the late ’90s. Moving to western MA in the early ’20s, HFVS premiered on April 3, 2007, with her 4-year-old daughter and co-host. Fifteen years later, with over 300 episodes, HFVS is an “iconic show” hosted by guest DJs worldwide, including Grammy Award-winners Joanie Leeds, Lucy Kalantari, Lisa Loeb Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, The Okee Dokee Brothers, Mister G, and Bill Harley.
